I am very excited to begin my term as TJPHA President. I am extremely proud of how far we have come in developing a breed of cattle that is competitive with all breeds, not only in the show ring, over the years that I have been a part of this organization. More than anything, I am proud of the terrific group of people that are the members of the TPHA. It gives me great honor to be viewed as a leader by the children of this great group of people.
I am proud to announce that the TJPHA currently consists of over 170 members. Some of these members were part of the 69 members from Texas that attended the NJHE. With the skills we are developing through the junior association and the great kids in it show great promise for the future development of our breed.
I would also like to congratulate Kandi Knippa our new NJHA president. Kandi showed great leadership skills to our state’s association when she served as president. Also congratulations to Mallory Phelps who was elected to the National Board. These two girls will, without a doubt, do a great job in serving our national association.

Our team of officers and directors has already met at the State Fair of Texas and discussed some of our plans for the Jr. State Show. We will meet again after our general membership meeting at the Fort Worth Stock Show. State Show will be held from June 16-19 in Amarillo. Plans have not been finalized, but we have come up with many great ideas and plan to have another great year for the TJPHA.
